ABELL  BRUTALIZES  BAD BOY

 GALEN GONE IN 38 SECONDS

Minnesota Ice Knocked out Galen 'Bad Boy' Brown 38 Seconds into the 1st round.  Joey hit Brown with a stinging jab early in round one.  Brown responded by taunting Joey with his gloves.  Joey accepted the invitation with a devastating three punch combo that put the ex-title holder to the mat.  In all his 42 previous fights, Brown has never been knocked out and never has gone less than 4 rounds with anyone.

. BROWN GRACIOUS IN DEFEAT

I exchanged a few words with Galen after the fight and he had only good things to say about Joey.   Joey is the only guy to ever even knock me down with a head shot and I have fought a lot of strong guys and will be the first to say he knocked me out and I don't remember the fight so he must have hit me hard .  He is a force to be reckoned with for sure.  I have never been down or even hurt with a punch, the only time I have been stopped is because I got tired and had to quit, he has a bright future for sure.”

ABELL SHATTERS BROWN
By Brett Mauren
Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Cold blooded would be the correct description for the vibe that Joey Abell has left Epic night club feeling in his last two outings. His nickname may be “Minnesota Ice” but Abell has been red hot in his last three outings, scoring three consecutive first round knockouts.
Once again, there simply isn’t too much detail to analyze with Abell’s latest win, this one by way of a crushing straight left hand that rocked Galen Brown(32-11) into unconsciousness last Saturday at the Epic Nightclub in Mnpls. Abell put his power on display early, capping the night off with an exclamation point, and possibly setting the stage for a heavyweight showdown with fellow Minnesotan Raphael Butler. The timing for a showdown with Butler would seem to be a positive factor, for Abell at least, who has polished off three straight victories to rebound from a tough three fight losing streak to end 2008.

ABELL VS BROWN

Joey will be facing Galen 'Bad Boy' Brown (32-10) in the Main Event at the Epic Nightclub.  This last minute replacement has an impressive record along with some notable fights under his belt.  The southpaw has mixed it up with  Manuel Quezada (26-4) ranked 52 in world, Rob Calloway (70-9) ranked 74th in world, and Robert Stieglitz (34-2) ranked 31st in the world.  The 27 year old is from St Joseph, Missouri and has a scheduled fight with Jesse Shewmaker (17-1) on the 23rd of May.
