NICHOLSON WINS BY DISQUALIFICATION

MINNESOTA ICE TO FACE JASON 'THE NATIVE AMERICAN NIGHTMARE' NICHOLSON

www.seconds-out.net

Joey is scheduled to fight Jason Nicholson (17-24, 10 KOs) on November 28th 2008 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.   Some of Jason’s more notable fights were with Jean Francois Bergeron (#2 Canada/#101 World) who won 27 straight fights including winning the NABA Heavyweight Championship before losing to Nikolay Valuev, Arthur Williams (#8 U.S./ #54 World) who was the USBA Cruiserweight World Champion, and Rob Callaway (#7 U.S./#49 World) who he fought three times including for the vacant WBF Intercontinental Heavyweight Title.

. ICE DISQUALIFIED

Minnesota Ice was disqualified after 2 ½ minutes into the 1st round at the Convention Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  The disqualification was awarded when Joey hit Nicholson with a vicious combination sending Nicholson down to a knee.  The last punch of the combination hit Nicholson while his knee was down according to the referee.  Nicholson was unable to recover and was visibly hurt after being pummeled throughout the first round.  Nicholson never landed a punch in the fight.

Joey equated the late punch with a quarterback hit just as he releases the ball.  You just can’t pull back.  You don’t know if he is really going to throw it or fake it.  Nicholson was avoiding punches during the fight by ducking down low and weaving.  He would go so low I couldn’t even see if he did take a knee.

This is the fourth disappointing loss for Minnesota Ice who believes he could still be undefeated if not for careless mistakes.  I felt great for this fight and was boxing at a level I have not experienced before.  I am extremely confident in my ability to take on anyone at this point and look forward to my next fight which will hopefully be soon.
